Hello and welcome to the Christopher Murphy Studio website. I'm Chris Murphy and I'm a professional caricaturist, artist and pianist living in Arnside, Cumbria on the edge of the English Lake District.

I'm a caricaturist and draw commissioned caricature portraits from photos for surprise gifts. I also draw caricatures on-the-spot for weddings, parties, corporate events and exhibitions. I cover mainly Cheshire, Manchester, Liverpool, Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cumbria, the Lake District, the North and North West, but will travel to other locations.

I also paint in watercolour and pastel and I also work to commission and paint a wide variety of subjects such as portraits of people, houses, pets and landscapes. I was based in Ulverston, Cumbria for several years and had my own gallery there and produced a series of Ulverston related prints. I now work from my studio in Arnside.

I play piano in a jazz duo called "Lounge Affaire" with my talented musician friend Stu Lewthwaite who plays tenor sax, double bass and piano accordian (but not all at the same time!). I also play solo for hotels, restaurants and parties etc. and often combine this with my on-the-spot caricatures to provide a unique entertainment package.
